Product Description The aim of this text is to provide an account of critical thinking using innovative stories and cases to teach everyday concepts of critical thinking. The text treats the subject of critical thinking as development of informal logic and includes treatments of the traditional informal fallacies, definitions, criteria, standards, and disputes. It also provides an introduction to traditional syllogistic logic and modern prepositional logic.

Excellent Introduction November 9, 2004 M. Kuhn 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The title of this book very accurately reflects its contents. This textbook is a terrific introduction to the basics of logic and, more generally, rational thinking. It gives necessary and insightful history on the subject in interesting and highly retentive ways. The text gives more than an overview in the latter chapters, giving the reader a helpful preview into more advanced logical thought.
